Philadelphia, PA, August 2, 2010 – Einstein physician Jorge Ortiz, MD, will discuss “Health Issues that Impact the Hispanic Community” at a Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting. Heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death in the United States, including in the Latino population. Dr. Ortiz will discuss how to maintain cardiovascular health and address other concerns that impact quality of life for the Hispanic community, including liver and kidney disease and access to transplants.
Board-certified in surgery, Dr. Ortiz is the Chief of Liver Transplant Surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center and has over ten years experience in liver transplantation and research. He specializes in multi-organ transplant including liver, kidney, pancreas, as well as in the newest procedures in liver surgery.
