Philadelphia, PA, December 15, 2008 — In celebration of the holidays, patients on the Children's Unit at Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment, learned about winter holidays that incorporate light into their celebrations, including Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanza. Belmont psychotherapist Dolores O'Neill, M.S.Ed. (shown in photo), taught the children about symbols and images of the holidays, including the menorah which is a candelabra used during Chanukah by people of the Jewish faith. The group worked on the project over several days to create a huge menorah made of paper, with colorful flames and drawings of presents, dreidels and other holiday symbols. The menorah is displayed through the holidays in Belmont's main lobby located at 4200 Monument Road, Philadelphia, PA. The menorah is one of the most recognized symbols of the Jewish faith. Every Chanukah, Jewish families around the world display the menorah for eight days, each day lighting another branch to commemorate the miracle that took place at the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.
